Thursday 12 May 12.30 -1.30pm – Navigating the New Waters
What does missional leadership look like for these new times?

Life in the UK is changing at a huge rate and for the church it can feel bewildering. This is particularly true when we consider that over two thirds of the population have never been part of a church and are not beating a path to our door. We need leaders who are missionaries. We need leaders who are able to recreate church in new places. We need leaders rooted in the gospel and free to see how this works out in their context. What might the character, gifts and skills of such leaders look like? How do we develop and train people for this role? If you want to set out into the deep waters of God’s plans for his church, this seminar is for you. If you are a leader wondering how to get your church to set out into those waters, this is for you. If you are wondering how we reach our nation for Christ, this is for you.

Gordon MacDonald

Pioneers meet up with Gordon MacDonald

A small group of pioneers spent a morning meeting with Gordon MacDonald, the author and speaker from the United States. They talked with Gordon about the work life balance for a pioneer and dealing with transitions both personally and with a church. It was wonderful to gain from Gordon’s wisdom and insights of 50 years in ministry.

Free and Rooted Conference

The Centres first conference was held at Ridley Hall on Saturday 6th November. The day was led by Dave Male and Adrian Chatfield from the centre. They helped those attending to think about how community, leadership and worship might shape the future of the church.

We looked at what Wayne Rooney, Richard Dawkins and Jade Goody tell us about the culture which we and the church are part of. Adrian Chatfield challenged everyone to ‘reinfect the world with worship at home, on the street,at work and through the calendar. Dave Male asked how we are enabling leaders to navigate the open seas when we have been used to following roads. The talks will soon be available on this website as audio files.

The talks are now available to listen here
